Bobby is recruited to join the Mud Dogs, and his aggressive play helps the team to start winning games. He also catches the eye of the head cheerleader, Vicki Vallencourt, played by Fairuza Balk, and starts to gain confidence both on and off the field.

As Bobby's success grows, his relationship with his mother becomes strained, and he starts to assert his independence. However, when his former boss from the Cougars team tries to sabotage him, Bobby must overcome his insecurities and lead the Mud Dogs to victory in the Bourbon Bowl.
