In the movie Love, Lies, So-yool and Yeon-hee are not only best friends but also talented singers in 1940s Seoul, Korea. With dreams of becoming the top artists in the city, they form a tight bond and even create a music group called the Foxes.

Their lives take a complicated turn when So-yool's childhood friend and secret love, Yoon-woo, appears in their lives as a songwriter. Yoon-woo is immediately captivated by Yeon-hee's exceptional voice and talent, causing So-yool to feel overshadowed and neglected.

As Yoon-woo and Yeon-hee's relationship deepens, So-yool's jealousy intensifies. Haunted by her feeling of inferiority and betrayal, she starts to believe that Yeon-hee is using her talent to manipulate Yoon-woo. Fueled by her emotions, So-yool hatches a plan to bring down the blossoming relationship between her best friend and her first love.

So-yool's scheme includes secretly recording Yeon-hee's singing voice and releasing it under her own name, posing as a rival singer. With the help of a conniving music producer, she gains popularity and starts to steal Yeon-hee's spotlight. However, as her plan unfolds, the consequences begin to weigh heavily on her conscience.
