In Hotel Transylvania 2, the story begins with the marriage of Mavis, Dracula's vampire daughter, and her human husband Johnny. They live happily at Hotel Transylvania, which is a popular resort for monsters. Dracula has decided to retire from his duties of managing the hotel and hopes that his grandson Dennis, who is half-vampire and half-human, will show signs of becoming a vampire.
However, as time goes by, it becomes evident that Dennis might not have any vampire traits yet. Concerned about his vampire legacy, Dracula decides to take his family and friends on a vacation to "Dennis' zing," a secret summer camp where monsters learn to become monsters.
