Meanwhile, a ruthless gang of motorcycle-riding ninjas named "The Black Tigers" has emerged and solidified their control over Florida's narcotics trade. Led by the fearsome leader Y.K. Kim, the ninjas operate under the cover of a legitimate martial arts school, where they train in secret to further their criminal activities.

Unbeknownst to Dragon Sound, Mark's estranged brother, Jeff, is a member of The Black Tigers. When Jeff learns about Dragon Sound's rising popularity, he becomes conflicted between his loyalty to the ninjas and his love for his brother.

As Dragon Sound continues to perform at various venues, their music becomes a symbol of hope and rebellion against the oppressive rule of The Black Tigers. Little by little, they gain a dedicated following, including a love interest for Mark named Jane, who works as a club owner.
