In the ballet production of "The Sleeping Beauty," the story follows the classic fairy tale by Charles Perrault. Princess Aurora is cursed by the evil fairy Carabosse, who becomes enraged after being left off the guest list for Aurora's christening. The curse states that on Aurora's 16th birthday, she will prick her finger on a spindle and die.

However, the good fairy Lilac Fairy intervenes and changes the curse, so instead of dying, Aurora will fall into a deep sleep from which she can only be awakened by true love's kiss. To protect Aurora, the Lilac Fairy casts a spell that puts the entire kingdom to sleep until the princess is awakened.

Years later, on Aurora's 16th birthday, the curse takes effect. Aurora is lured by the wicked fairy Carabosse to a spindle and pricks her finger, falling into a deep slumber. The Lilac Fairy ensures that Aurora is protected and presents Prince Florimund to her in a vision. The prince becomes determined to find the sleeping princess and break the spell.

With the Lilac Fairy's guidance, Prince Florimund reaches the enchanted castle where Aurora is asleep. He fights Carabosse and the other evil fairy creatures to reach Aurora's bedside. When he finds her, overcome by her enchanting beauty, he kisses her, breaking Carabosse's spell. The entire kingdom wakes up, celebrating the awakening of Princess Aurora, and the ballet ends with a grand wedding celebration between Aurora and Prince Florimund.

"The Sleeping Beauty" is a timeless ballet that showcases the beauty of classical dance with its intricate choreography, majestic music by Tchaikovsky, and stunning sets and costumes.
