In Triple 9, the gang of criminals is led by Michael Atwood (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a former cop who now works as a robber for the Russian mafia. The corrupt cops involved in the plan include Marcus Belmont (Anthony Mackie) and Franco Rodriguez (Clifton Collins Jr.), who are both part of the Atlanta police department.
The gang is forced by the Russian mafia to carry out a heist on a heavily guarded government facility in order to retrieve sensitive information.
