In "What Will You Do When You Catch Me?", the protagonist Tadeusz Krzakoski, portrayed by Krzysztof Kowalewski, is the director of a state-owned company that is on the brink of failure. He is also married and faces various struggles in his personal life.

One day, Tadeusz finds himself in a complicated situation when his mistress, who happens to be the daughter of a well-connected Communist party official, announces that she is pregnant. Aware of the potential scandal and its consequences for his reputation and job, Tadeusz realizes that he must marry his mistress to salvage the situation.

However, divorces are never straightforward affairs, and Tadeusz finds himself embroiled in a series of hilarious and absurd situations as he tries to navigate through the complexities of his relationship troubles. As the story unfolds, Tadeusz's attempts to handle his crumbling marriage, impending divorce, and the pressure to marry his pregnant mistress become the central focus of the film.
