In the romantic comedy film "License to Wed," Ben Murphy (played by John Krasinski) and Sadie Jones (played by Mandy Moore) are a newly engaged couple who are excited to embark on their journey towards marriage. However, a major obstacle stands in their way in the form of Sadie's family church's Reverend Frank (played by Robin Williams).

Reverend Frank is a charismatic and unconventional minister who believes that couples should undergo a rigorous preparation course before tying the knot. He claims that his course is foolproof and will ensure a long and successful marriage. Ben and Sadie, desperate to gain his blessing, reluctantly agree to take part in the program.

As they delve deeper into the marriage preparation course, Ben and Sadie quickly realize that Reverend Frank's methods are far from ordinary. They are subjected to a series of outrageous and often embarrassing exercises, ranging from awkward role-playing scenarios to bizarre homework assignments. Reverend Frank even intrudes into their personal lives, monitoring their interactions outside of the course and giving them assignments that invade their privacy.

While Ben initially tries to play along with Reverend Frank's eccentric methods, tensions rise as the demands become more outlandish. The couple struggles to balance their desire to please Sadie's family and the happiness of their own relationship. Along the way, they question whether Reverend Frank's unorthodox approach is truly the key to a successful marriage or if they are just being put through unnecessary stress.

As the wedding date looms closer, Ben and Sadie must confront their fears, doubts, and the strain on their relationship caused by Reverend Frank's intrusive course. They must decide whether to continue down the unconventional path set by the Reverend or to forge their own way, ultimately discovering what truly matters in a marriage.

"License to Wed" explores the challenges and comedic mishaps that arise when couples navigate the pressures and expectations of preparing for marriage. It touches upon themes of love, compromise, and the importance of being true to oneself amidst outside influences. Will Ben and Sadie's relationship survive the outrageous trials of Reverend Frank's course, or will they find their own definition of a happy ending?
