Raat Akeli Hai is a Hindi-language crime thriller film directed by Honey Trehan. The story revolves around a newly married landlord named Raghubeer Singh, belonging to a wealthy and influential family in a small town in India. One night, as the title suggests, Raghubeer is mysteriously murdered on the night of his wedding.

To investigate the murder, Jatil Yadav, a small-town cop with a reputation for never losing a case, is assigned to the case. Jatil is a misfit cop, unconventional in his approach, and has a penchant for solving complex cases. As he delves into the investigation, he realizes that the case is not as straightforward as it seems.

The complexity of the case arises from the secretive nature of Raghubeer's family, who are unwilling to cooperate with the investigation. All members of the family have their own motives, secrets, and conflicting interests, making it difficult for Jatil to uncover the truth. Despite facing resistance and obstructions, Jatil's determination to solve the murder pushes him to unravel the layers of deception and hidden agendas within the family.

As the investigation progresses, Jatil finds himself entangled in a web of lies, betrayal, and dark secrets. Alongside the murder mystery, Jatil battles his own personal conflicts and struggles with his feelings for Radha, Raghubeer's young and attractive widow. Their unlikely connection and Jatil's personal dilemmas further complicate his focus on the case.

Raat Akeli Hai explores themes of power dynamics, family intrigues, societal prejudices, and the human capacity for deception and self-destruction. As Jatil unravels the truth, he must navigate through a series of twists and turns while also wrestling with his own conflicting emotions.

The film features an ensemble cast, including Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Jatil Yadav, Radhika Apte as Radha, Shweta Tripathi as Raghubeer's mistress, Aditya Srivastava, Tigmanshu Dhulia, and many others. As the plot unfolds, the film keeps audiences gripped with its suspenseful narrative and layered characters, ultimately leading to a surprising climax that uncovers the truth behind the murder of the newly married landlord.
