In Coming 2 America, Prince Akeem Joffer, who is set to take over as the King of Zamunda, learns about the existence of his long-lost son, Lavelle, who resides in Queens, New York. Akeem, accompanied by his loyal friend Semmi, embarks on a journey to America to meet his son and fulfill his late father's dying wish to groom him as the next crown prince.

Arriving in Queens, Akeem and Semmi find Lavelle working at a barbershop and soon reveal his royal lineage. Initially skeptical, Lavelle eventually embraces his newfound heritage and agrees to accompany Akeem back to Zamunda. As they return to the African nation, Lavelle must navigate the complexities of royal life, cultural differences, and the expectations of becoming the crown prince.

However, Lavelle's presence and potential claim to the throne cause unrest among the Zamundan royal family and the citizens. Akeem's daughters, Meeka and Omma, are well-prepared and have always dreamed of ruling Zamunda themselves. Their objection to Lavelle's rise to power leads to conflicts within the palace, creating tension and challenges for Akeem.

To complicate matters further, General Izzi, the ruler of the neighboring nation of Nexdoria, threatens to wage war on Zamunda. In order to resolve the tension between the two nations, Akeem proposes an arranged marriage between his eldest daughter, Meeka, and the ruthless Izzi.

As Lavelle prepares himself to take on his responsibilities, he begins to fall for Mirembe, a strong-willed Zamundan royal groomer, which further complicates the situation. Alongside his newfound love and loyal family and friends, Lavelle must prove himself worthy of the throne and navigate the political and romantic challenges that arise.

Coming 2 America delves into themes of family, tradition, and finding one's true identity while blending comedy, romance, and cultural clashes. The story invites audiences on a hilarious and heartwarming journey as Akeem and Lavelle face their respective destinies and strive to unite their families and countries.
