Comedy   United States of America

After Dickie Roberts, a former child star, fails to transition into adult acting, he finds himself working as a valet parking attendant at a fancy restaurant. Unhappy with his current life, Dickie becomes determined to regain his former fame and fortune.

When Dickie learns about an upcoming movie role that requires an actor to portray a normal, ordinary guy, he sees it as his chance to make a comeback. However, during his audition, the director quickly realizes that Dickie is far from being a regular person. Despite his struggles with adulthood and maintaining a normal life, Dickie is determined to prove himself and win the role.

Realizing that he needs to reconnect with his lost childhood and learn how to live like a normal person, Dickie comes up with an audacious plan. He decides to hire a family to help him recreate his childhood experiences and learn what it means to be an average kid.

Dickie's hired family consists of a father figure, played by a failed actor struggling with his own career, a mother figure who is an aspiring singer, and his siblings who are trying to find their own paths in life. Together, they embark on a journey to help Dickie revisit his past experiences and reconnect with the joys and innocence of childhood.

As Dickie immerses himself into his new role, he starts to experience the challenges and joys of everyday life. He attends school, plays with friends, and even participates in his own birthday party. Throughout his journey, Dickie learns valuable life lessons about friendship, family, and what truly matters in life.

Although the family members initially view their involvement as a mere acting gig, they gradually develop a genuine bond with Dickie and begin to appreciate the importance of cherishing their own lives. As the film progresses, both Dickie and his hired family go through personal growth, emotional challenges, and unexpected surprises.

In the end, the journey helps Dickie not only regain his lost innocence and reconnect with his true self, but also enables him to realize that fame and fortune may not bring true happiness. He comes to understand that leading an ordinary life filled with love, laughter, and genuine connections is far more valuable than the fleeting spotlight of stardom.
