In the movie "All Is Bright," the two French Canadian ne’er-do-wells, Dennis and Rene, embark on a journey to New York City to make some quick money by selling Christmas trees during the holiday season. However, the adventure they encounter is far from what they had anticipated.

Upon arriving in New York, they set up their Christmas tree stand on a street corner, hoping to attract customers. However, they quickly realize that the competition is fierce, with numerous other vendors lined up nearby. Their efforts to make a profit become increasingly challenging as they struggle to sell their trees amidst the bustling city.

Things take an unexpected turn when Dennis, portrayed as a somewhat lost and melancholic character, learns that his estranged wife, Therese, has a new boyfriend named Rene. Confused and heartbroken, Dennis decides to reconcile with his wife, even though he is unsure of his chances. Upon meeting Therese, he discovers that she is not doing well financially and is struggling to provide for their daughter.

Wanting to make amends and prove himself as a responsible and caring father, Dennis hatches a plan to steal money from his former employer, a petty criminal named Rene, and buy his daughter an expensive Christmas gift. Together with Rene, they plan a heist to rob Rene's recent employer, a lighting store, on Christmas Eve.

As they execute their plan, things go awry, leading to unexpected consequences and testing the loyalty and bond between the two friends. Amidst the chaos and unforeseen events, they confront their mistakes, regrets, and hopes for redemption.

"All Is Bright" explores themes of forgiveness, reconciliation, and the power of second chances against the backdrop of the holiday season in the bustling city of New York.
