Fluke, based on the 1995 novel of the same name by James Herbert, tells the story of Thomas Johnson, a workaholic executive who tragically dies in an auto accident. Miraculously, he is reincarnated as a dog and retains fragments of his human memories.

Initially confused by his new form, Thomas, now named Fluke, embarks on a journey to find answers and understand his purpose. Guided by flashbacks and fragmented memories, he recalls glimpses of his past life, including his wife Carol and their young son, Brian.

Fluke tracks down Carol and Brian and becomes determined to protect them from the mysterious man responsible for his fatal car crash. As Fluke tailors his affectionate nature to Carol and Brian, he discovers that his dedication to work had alienated him from his family in the past, causing tensions and estrangement.

While safeguarding his loved ones, Fluke gradually unravels the truth behind his accident. He uncovers a web of betrayal and deceit involving his ambitious former colleague, Jeff Newman, who orchestrates the incident to further his own career. Fueled by a newfound sense of responsibility and reconnection with his family, Fluke is driven to seek justice and redemption.

Throughout his canine journey, Fluke encounters a variety of animals, from a wise owl to a playful squirrel, who impart valuable life lessons. These encounters stir up deeper introspection within Fluke, forcing him to confront his shortcomings as a husband and father. As he faces his past mistakes, Fluke undergoes a transformation, recognizing the need to heal unfinished business and reconcile with his family.

In a climactic sequence, Fluke confronts Jeff, exposing his nefarious deeds. With the truth revealed, Fluke's spirit is finally able to move on, leaving behind a legacy of love, forgiveness, and personal growth. Carol and Brian are left to rebuild their lives, carrying the lessons they have learned from Fluke's remarkable journey.

Fluke is a heartwarming tale that explores themes of family, regret, and the importance of cherishing the present. It delves into the complexities of human relationships and the potential for personal transformation, all through the eyes of a loyal and self-discovering dog.
