In Beware the Gonzo, Eddie "Gonzo" Gilman, a passionate and rebellious teenager, is forced to leave his position as a journalist for his prestigious prep school's newspaper. He is replaced by the popular and conforming editor, who appeals to the mainstream student body. Determined to give a voice to the marginalized students, the misfits, outcasts, and nerds, Eddie decides to start his own underground newspaper.

With the help of his small group of dedicated friends, Eddie begins to rally the fellow misfits in the school, encouraging them to submit articles and stories to his new publication.
