As a Hebrew infant, Moses is raised as a prince in the Egyptian royal household after being rescued from the Nile River by Pharaoh's daughter. Unaware of his true heritage, he grows up alongside his adoptive brother, Ramses, who is set to inherit the Egyptian throne.

As Moses reaches adulthood, he becomes increasingly concerned about the mistreatment of his Hebrew brethren, who are enslaved and subjected to harsh labor by the Egyptian empire. One day, while visiting the Hebrews' labor camps, Moses witnesses an Egyptian taskmaster brutally beating a Hebrew slave. Filled with anger and fueled by a strong sense of justice, Moses intervenes and ultimately kills the taskmaster to save the slave.

Fearing the repercussions of his actions, Moses flees Egypt and finds himself in the desert, where he encounters a group of Midianite shepherds. He marries Zipporah, the daughter of Jethro, the Midianite priest, and lives a peaceful life as a shepherd.

Years pass, and during one of his journeys, Moses experiences a life-altering encounter with a burning bush. Through this supernatural event, God reveals himself to Moses and commands him to return to Egypt, demanding that Moses lead the Hebrew people out of slavery and into freedom.

Reluctantly accepting his destiny, Moses confronts Pharaoh, demanding the release of his people. However, Pharaoh, driven by pride and the desire to maintain his economic power, refuses. This leads to a series of divine plagues unleashed by God upon Egypt, each one more devastating than the last. The plagues include water turning into blood, infestations of frogs, gnats, flies, a grievous livestock epidemic, boils, thunderstorms leading to hail and fire, a locust invasion, a period of complete darkness, and ultimately, the death of all Egyptian firstborn sons.

After enduring immense suffering and loss, Pharaoh finally relents and agrees to let the Hebrews go. Moses leads his people out of Egypt, guiding them through the perilous journey across the parted Red Sea, miraculously created by God. Finally, they reach Mount Sinai, where Moses receives the divine gift of the Ten Commandments, establishing a moral and ethical code to guide his people.

The movie showcases Moses' remarkable transformation from a lost prince to a strong and determined leader, as he overcomes personal doubts, confronts Pharaoh's tyranny, and leads his people to freedom, ultimately fulfilling his destiny as the liberator and guiding them towards the promised land of Canaan.
