As Frank starts to get his life together, he gets a call from his boss informing him that there is a power struggle within their organization, and Frank is needed back in Buffalo to eliminate their rivals. Reluctantly, Frank agrees to return and do one last job before leaving his life as a hit man behind.

Before leaving, Frank shares his plans with Laurel, who surprises him by insisting on going with him to Buffalo. Laurel believes that her wit and quick-thinking could be invaluable to Frank while dealing with dangerous mobsters. Frank, initially reluctant to involve her, eventually agrees, realizing that having Laurel by his side might be the key to survival.
