Plot Details:
The movie starts by introducing us to three socially awkward high school freshmen, Wade, Ryan, and Emmit. They have just entered high school and find themselves facing the wrath of Filkins, the school's notorious bully. Desperate for protection, they decide to hire a bodyguard to stand up to Filkins and ensure their safety.
They stumble upon Drillbit Taylor, a homeless man who claims to be a trained bodyguard. Unbeknownst to the kids, Drillbit is actually a conman looking for an easy way to make money. Seeing an opportunity, he agrees to protect them, charging them a small fee for his services.
As the kids begin to rely on Drillbit for protection, they find solace in his presence. Drillbit, touched by their vulnerability, starts to develop a fondness for them and becomes somewhat of a mentor figure. He helps them build courage, stand up for themselves, and handles a few minor confrontations with Filkins.
Things take an unexpected twist when Drillbit falls for a pretty English teacher, Lisa. Determined to win her over, he decides to change his ways and prove himself to be a reliable person.
