Drama   United States of America

Sensitive and in Love follows the journey of Maya, a 28-year-old millennial writer living in San Francisco, who travels back to her birth country, the Philippines, along with her younger brother, Alex, a talented music producer. While on this trip, the siblings are forced to confront their traumatic childhood experiences and ultimately learn to accept and embrace their seemingly unbearable trait.

As the story unfolds, Maya and Alex find themselves revisiting the places of their childhood, such as the old family home, the neighborhood they grew up in, and the schools they attended. While confronted with these familiar surroundings, they both struggle with painful memories and buried emotions that they have long tried to suppress.

Maya, a highly sensitive person, has always been more in touch with her emotions than others around her. This often led to her feeling overwhelmed and misunderstood, causing her to shut down and distance herself from people. Alex, on the other hand, has always been incredibly perceptive of the world around him, but his sensitivity left him vulnerable to criticism and doubt, affecting his self-confidence.

During their time in the Philippines, Maya and Alex meet an eclectic group of characters who gradually help them come to terms with their past. Among these are an empathetic artist who encourages Maya to express her emotions through her writing, a wise old musician who inspires Alex to embrace his unique musical talent, and a spiritual healer who guides them both on a transformative inner journey.

As Maya and Alex delve deeper into their respective passions of writing and music, they discover that their sensitivity, once perceived as a burden, can be transformed into a catalyst for connection, creativity, and healing. Together, they begin to collaborate, using their artistic abilities to express their deepest fears and desires, ultimately leading to a breakthrough in their personal growth.

Sensitive and in Love delves into the complex themes of trauma, family, self-acceptance, and the power of art as a means of self-expression. Through their shared experiences, Maya and Alex navigate the challenges of their past, find solace in each other's support, and learn to embrace their sensitivity as a strength rather than a weakness. As the movie concludes, they leave the Philippines with a renewed sense of purpose and a newfound appreciation for the beauty that can arise from embracing their true selves.
