"Aimee & Jaguar" is a 1999 German drama film directed by Max Färberböck, based on a true story set in Berlin during World War II. The film centers around the forbidden love affair between two women from very different backgrounds.

Lilly Wust, a married mother of four, is a loyal and devoted Nazi wife. She is known as "Jaguar" due to her husband's occupation as a soldier. Lilly lives a conformist life, supporting the ideology of Hitler's regime, but she feels lonely and unfulfilled in her marriage.

In contrast, Felice Schragenheim, known as "Aimee," is a vibrant and free-spirited Jewish woman. She works for an underground resistance group, providing false documents and information to help other Jews escape persecution. Felice is openly lesbian and actively engages in the underground LGBTQ community, attending forbidden parties and gatherings.

As Berlin gets bombed by the Allies, Lilly's life takes an unexpected turn when she attends one of these forbidden parties and encounters Felice. They are immediately drawn to each other, starting a passionate and intense love affair. Despite the danger and the prejudices surrounding them, they continue to meet in secret, taking solace in their love amidst the chaos of the war.

Their relationship becomes a sanctuary for both women, providing them with the strength to face the atrocities happening around them. They share their dreams, fears, and hopes, forming an unbreakable bond. However, their love affair is threatened when Felice's activities with the underground bring her into constant danger, especially as the Gestapo continues its relentless pursuit of Jews.

The film also explores the challenges faced by both women within their respective communities. Lilly struggles with her loyalty to her husband and the Nazi ideology while being consumed by her love for Felice. Felice is torn between her desire to escape the persecution of the Nazis and her commitment to the underground resistance.

The tension builds as wartime circumstances become more severe. As the Gestapo closes in on Felice, Lilly does everything she can to protect her lover, risking her own safety and reputation. The movie depicts how love can overcome societal divisions, even in the most perilous times.

"Aimee & Jaguar" is not only a tale of a forbidden love affair, but also a poignant exploration of the strength of human connection and the power of love amidst the darkest of circumstances.
