In Gangs of Wasseypur - Part 2, the story continues from where the first film left off. The film delves deeper into the complex and violent world of the coal mafia in the city of Wasseypur, India.

Following the death of Sardar Khan, his sons Faizal (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) and Danish (Vineet Kumar Singh) take charge of seeking revenge against Ramadhir Singh (Tigmanshu Dhulia), a powerful politician and coal mine owner who had ordered the killing of Sardar. Faizal, who was previously a timid and reluctant participant in the rivalry, transforms into a fearless and ruthless gangster, determined to avenge his father's death.
