Comedy   United States of America

Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, two hilariously inept filmmakers, receive a billion dollars from Tommy Schlaaang, the erratic CEO of a dilapidated shopping mall called the S'wallow Valley Mall. The money is provided to them on the condition that they revitalize the failing mall and create a successful film within its premises.

Eager to fulfill their dream of making a blockbuster movie, Tim and Eric begin their ambitious project by hiring a cast and crew, including a mismatched group of eccentric personalities. However, their lack of talent and terrible decision-making quickly turn the project into a chaotic disaster.

As they attempt to shoot their film, things go awry in every conceivable way. The inept directors struggle to manage the unruly cast, deal with dangerous stunts, and navigate disastrous script rewrites. In addition, they encounter bizarre characters like Taquito, a feral mall dweller who refuses to leave, and Damien Weebs, a loopy filmmaker who believes he is the true owner of the shopping mall.

As the production becomes more and more chaotic, Tim and Eric's relationship starts to crumble under the pressure. Their friendship is put to the test as they face financial ruin, lawsuits, and even the wrath of a deranged sword-wielding mob boss.

Throughout the movie, Tim and Eric's misadventures blend absurdist comedy with satirical commentary on the filmmaking industry and consumer culture. As they struggle to salvage their disastrous movie, the duo learns important lessons about friendship, artistic integrity, and the consequences of their own hubris.

In the end, despite their countless failures and setbacks, Tim and Eric manage to complete their movie, albeit in a completely unexpected and bizarre fashion. The result is a truly unconventional film that lives up to their reputation as the masters of absurdity.
