Drama   United States of America

Lane, a troubled young woman, is attempting to heal and recover after a suicide attempt by isolating herself in her country house. Her best friend, Stephanie, decides to join her for the summer to provide emotional support.

Lane's mother, Diane, unexpectedly arrives with her husband, Lloyd, Lane's stepfather. Diane is concerned about Lane's well-being and hopes to help her daughter through this difficult time. However, Lane has a strained relationship with her mother, leading to tension and friction between them.

Throughout the summer, Lane finds solace and companionship in her neighbors, Peter and Howard. Howard, a kind-hearted and devoted friend, has been in love with Lane for a long time and offers her constant emotional support. Despite Howard's feelings, Lane is secretly infatuated with Peter, the attractive and charismatic neighbor.

Unbeknownst to Lane, Peter reciprocates the romantic feelings but for Stephanie, Lane's best friend. This complicates the relationships between the four characters, with unrequited love and hidden desires causing further turmoil.

As the days go by, Lane begins to confide in Stephanie about her feelings for Peter, not knowing that Stephanie is experiencing the same emotions towards him. This revelation strains their friendship, leading to a rift and potentially fracturing their bond.

Meanwhile, tension also grows between Lane and Howard as Lane's affection for Peter becomes more apparent. Howard struggles with his unrequited love and tries to find a way to express his feelings to Lane, despite her obvious infatuation with Peter.

The emotional rollercoaster intensifies as the characters navigate their complex relationships and confront their own desires and insecurities. Lane must confront her own demons and learn to prioritize her mental health, while Stephanie and Peter are forced to confront their own conflicted feelings.

The dramatic climax occurs when Lane's emotional state becomes increasingly fragile, leading to a confrontation between all the characters. Secrets come to light, hearts are broken, and the bonds of friendship and love are tested.

In the end, Lane's journey towards recovery and self-discovery takes center stage as she learns to let go of her unrequited love for Peter and find happiness within herself. The movie explores themes of friendship, love, mental health, and the complexities of human relationships.
