In Smiley Face, Jane wakes up in her cluttered apartment with a long to-do list. However, her priorities quickly shift when she accidentally consumes her roommate Steve's marijuana-infused cupcakes, not realizing they are laced with an extremely potent strain of weed.

As the edibles kick in, Jane's day takes a comically disastrous turn. Trying to remain focused, she heads out to repay her dealer, Brevin, for the consumed cupcakes. However, she constantly gets sidetracked by her intense high and encounters various obstacles that hinder her progress.
