In the movie "Vacation," Rusty Griswold, now a grown-up and working as a pilot for a regional airline, decides to plan a family vacation to Walley World, a theme park he visited as a child. Rusty feels that this trip would help bring his family closer together and create lasting memories for his own children, just as it did for him in his childhood.

Rusty's wife, Debbie, is initially skeptical of the idea but eventually agrees to embark on the cross-country road trip with their two sons, James and Kevin. Right from the start, their journey takes them through a series of hilarious and unexpected misadventures.

Their first stop is at Debbie's former college sorority house, where they meet her old friend, who happens to be a beautiful and seductive woman named Stone Crandall. As Rusty becomes increasingly insecure and paranoid about Stone's intentions, their interactions become awkward and comical.

Continuing on their trip, the Griswold family encounters various obstacles and eccentric characters. They accidentally stumble upon Rusty's sister Audrey and her well-endowed husband, whose appearance sparks both excitement and awkwardness. They also encounter a trucker named "Ethan Tremblay," who turns out to be a huge fan of Rusty's achievements as a pilot.

Throughout the journey, the family experiences mishaps such as their car being completely destroyed in a river mishap and being forced to stay in a cheap motel run by a creepy manager. They also visit various tourist attractions, including a hot spring, an amusement park, and a historic battleground, each leading to more comic mayhem.

As the Griswolds face one obstacle after another, their original goal of reaching Walley World becomes increasingly elusive. The family's determination to overcome these hurdles defines their journey, helping them rediscover their love for each other and forming unforgettable memories along the way.

In the end, the Griswold family arrives at Walley World, only to discover that the park is closed for renovations. Despite this disappointment, they decide to break into the park and enjoy their own private adventure, making the most out of their vacation.

"Vacation" is a comedic and heartwarming film that showcases the importance of family, despite the chaos and unexpected events that life throws their way.
