In the movie Right Now, Wrong Then, the film director, Kim Cheol-woong, arrives in town a day earlier than planned. While waiting for his lecture, he stumbles upon a beautifully restored palace where he encounters a talented but unknown artist, Hee-jung.

Curious about her work, Cheol-woong strikes up a conversation with Hee-jung. Despite her lack of knowledge about his films, she is intrigued by his fame and agrees to show him her paintings in her nearby workshop. As they spend time together, their connection grows, and they develop a genuine interest in each other.

To continue their conversation, Cheol-woong suggests they have sushi and soju, a traditional Korean alcoholic beverage. Over the course of their meal, they continue to open up to each other, discussing their dreams, insecurities, and personal challenges. They find solace in this vulnerable exchange as they navigate their own complicated lives.

Later on, Cheol-woong and Hee-jung join a gathering with their respective friends. As they interact with others, their secrets and hidden truths unexpectedly come to light, causing tension and discomfort. The night becomes increasingly awkward as conflicts arise, and the fragile connection between Cheol-woong and Hee-jung is put to the test.

The following day, the movie takes an unexpected turn as the narrative restarts, but with slight variations. The previous events are revisited, but now the atmosphere and dynamics between the characters have subtly shifted. This shift allows the audience to explore how different choices and circumstances can drastically alter the outcome of a budding relationship.

The film delves deep into human complexities, exploring themes of love, connection, and the intricacies of human interactions. Through its nonlinear storytelling, Right Now, Wrong Then presents two distinct possibilities, leaving the audience to ponder the nature of chance, the consequences of actions, and the unpredictable nature of relationships.
