In the movie Think Like a Man, four couples find themselves in a relationship predicament when the women begin applying the strategies suggested in Steve Harvey's book, Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man, to gain more control in their relationships. As the men gradually become aware that their partners are using their own playbook against them, they decide to take matters into their own hands.

The first couple in the story is Michael (played by Terrence J) and Candace (played by Regina Hall). Candace insists on staying celibate for a while to test Michael's commitment and seriousness towards their relationship. However, Michael turns to Harvey's book, and with the help of his friends, he learns how to turn the tables in his favor.

Jeremy (played by Jerry Ferrara) and Kristen (played by Gabrielle Union), another couple, are facing financial challenges due to Jeremy being a struggling mama's boy. Kristen seizes the advice from Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man to push Jeremy to become more responsible and motivated, but he discovers her tactic and retaliates with a counterplan.

Zeke (played by Romany Malco) and Mya (played by Meagan Good) have a "friends with benefits" arrangement that Mya wishes to turn into a more serious commitment. Yet, when Zeke comes across the women reading Harvey's book, he realizes their intentions and schemes to maintain the status quo.

Finally, there is the seemingly perfect couple, Dominic (played by Michael Ealy) and Lauren (played by Taraji P. Henson). Lauren, a successful businesswoman, struggles to find a man on her level until she stumbles upon the book. She uses it as a guide to transform their relationship, unaware that Dominic intends to outsmart her and regain control.

Throughout the movie, the couples engage in a battle of wits, using Harvey's book as a weapon against each other. However, as they manipulate the advice to achieve their personal goals, complications arise, leading to misunderstandings, arguments, and ultimately, questioning the authenticity of their relationships.

As the plot unfolds, all four couples must confront the repercussions of their manipulative actions and decide whether the strategies and tactics provided by Steve Harvey's book are the key to a successful and lasting relationship or merely a recipe for disaster.
