"The Brothers Solomon" follows the lives of John (played by Will Arnett) and Dean Solomon (played by Will Forte), two well-intentioned, yet socially awkward and emotionally immature brothers. After their father (played by Lee Majors) falls into a coma, they learn that his dying wish is to have a grandchild. Unfamiliar with the concept of adoption or alternative methods, the brothers decide to take on the challenge of finding mates and getting them pregnant as quickly as possible.

To fulfill their father's wish, John and Dean first attempt to navigate the dating scene. However, their lack of social skills and understanding of social cues lead to many cringe-worthy encounters and failed attempts at wooing women. Their pursuit of love leads them to a number of comedic situations, such as crashing weddings and attending a self-help course for single men.

Their luck changes when they meet Janine (played by Kristen Wiig), their new neighbor. Believing she could be their perfect match, they befriend her in hopes of convincing her to become a surrogate mother for their child. However, John and Dean soon discover that Janine is already in a relationship with James (played by Chi McBride), which challenges their initial plan.

Undeterred, the brothers continue their search for potential mates. They stumble upon Tara (played by Malin Åkerman), a young woman who initially rejects their advances but eventually becomes involved in their plan. Tara agrees to be the surrogate mother, and the brothers prepare to impregnate her through artificial insemination.

As they navigate the complexities of their relationships with Janine, Tara, and each other, the brothers begin to mature emotionally. They realize that their quest for a grandchild originally stemmed from their own desires for personal growth and connection. Simultaneously, their encounters with both success and failure in their romantic endeavors provide opportunities for growth and understanding.

Throughout the film, "The Brothers Solomon" showcases the often all-consuming nature of sibling relationships, as John and Dean's bond and love for each other is put to the test. The movie culminates in an emotionally charged climax, where the brothers reevaluate their priorities, redefine family, and rediscover the true meaning of love and companionship.

Filled with awkward humor, endearing characters, and heartwarming moments, "The Brothers Solomon" offers a lighthearted and entertaining exploration of family, relationships, and personal growth.
