Drama,Fantasy,Romance   United States of America

In the movie A Ghost Story, the central character, referred to as C (short for Casey), is a musician living in a suburban home with his wife, M (short for Mabel). Tragically, C dies in a car accident right outside their house. Instead of moving on to the afterlife, C becomes a ghost, portrayed by wearing a classic white sheet with cut-out eyeholes.

As a ghost, C returns to the house, where time begins to lose its linear structure for him. He becomes unstuck in time, witnessing different moments in the house's history, both past and future. This includes observing the lives of previous residents of the home, as well as future occupants who encounter their own struggles and joys.

Throughout the film, C remains a silent observer, unable to communicate with the living world. He watches as M copes with his absence, dealing with her grief by, for example, eating an entire pie left as a condolence gift. Despite the limitations of his spectral state, C yearns to reach out to M and bring her comfort during her mourning.

As time progresses, the house becomes increasingly dilapidated, transforming from a place of warmth and love to an abandoned and decaying structure. It becomes a symbol of C's longing to connect with M and the fleeting nature of human existence.

The film delves into existential concepts, exploring themes of love, loss, and the passage of time. It showcases the ghost's perspective on the human experience, highlighting the profound yet often unnoticed moments that shape our lives.

Without giving too much away, the movie takes a contemplative and introspective approach, prompting viewers to reflect on the nature of existence, the legacy we leave behind, and the inevitable transience of everything we hold dear.

Note: The plot details provided are based on the synopsis and general knowledge of the movie. However, A Ghost Story is known for its minimalistic and ambiguous approach, leaving room for individual interpretations.
