In the movie Buried, Paul Conroy, a U.S. truck driver, wakes up to find himself buried alive inside a wooden coffin somewhere in the Iraqi desert. Confused and terrified, Paul soon discovers a lighter and a cell phone placed beside him, his only sources of light and communication.

As panic sets in, Paul frantically tries to call for help, but quickly realizes he has a limited amount of battery life on his cell phone. He manages to get a weak signal and makes contact with various individuals, including his employer, the U.S. State Department, and his family back in the United States.

Desperate for rescue, Paul learns that he has been taken captive by an unidentified extremist group demanding a ransom for his release. As time passes, he engages in tense negotiations with these individuals, facing mental and emotional strain as he fights to remain hopeful while being trapped in the suffocating darkness.

Throughout the film, Paul's claustrophobic and nightmarish situation intensifies. He encounters various obstacles, such as the limited battery life on his phone, language barriers with his captors, and the ever-present threat of running out of oxygen.

As the clock continues to tick, Paul's interactions with the outside world become increasingly desperate. He attempts to rally friends, contacts the FBI, and even pleads with the public to raise the money for his ransom.

Ultimately, the movie explores the psychological toll of being buried alive, delving into themes of isolation, fear, and the lengths one is willing to go to survive. With every minute that passes, the audience is left on the edge of their seats, uncertain of Paul's fate and whether he will escape this unimaginable ordeal.
