In Save Yourselves!, the young Brooklyn couple, Jack and Su, are feeling overwhelmed by their hectic and technology-dependent lives. Desiring a break from the constant distractions of their phones and the city, they decide to embark on a week-long retreat to a remote cabin upstate.
Upon arriving at the cabin, Jack and Su are greeted by their eccentric and eco-conscious hosts, who provide them with a list of unconventional activities to try during their stay. Embracing the opportunity to disconnect from technology, the couple gladly comply with their hosts' instructions to turn off their phones and lock them away in a safe.
Unbeknownst to Jack and Su, while they are enjoying their time off the grid, a series of mysterious and destructive events begin to unfold worldwide. Alien creatures from another planet have launched an attack on Earth, using a unique form of deadly foliage to invade and consume human life. However, Jack and Su remain blissfully unaware of the chaos surrounding them, completely cut off from the outside world.
As the couple indulges in simplistic activities like baking bread, chopping wood, and attempting to communicate without the aid of their devices, their carefree obliviousness starts to shift. They gradually notice unusual occurrences in their surroundings, such as strange lights in the sky and peculiar animal behavior. Eventually, Jack and Su's ignorance comes to an abrupt end when they stumble upon one of the alien creatures, referred to as "Pouffes," in the woods.
