"Chemical Hearts" follows the story of Grace Town (played by Lili Reinhart), a high school transfer student who finds solace and purpose when she joins the school newspaper, known as The Bugle. Grace is trying to navigate her new school while dealing with the emotional aftermath of a devastating car accident that left her with a noticeable scar on her face and a heavy emotional burden.

At The Bugle, Grace meets and befriends Henry Page (played by Austin Abrams), the editor-in-chief of the newspaper.
