In the movie EuroTrip, the story revolves around Scott Thomas, a high school graduate who recently gets dumped by his girlfriend, Fiona. Depressed and feeling lonely, Scott discovers that his German pen pal, whom he has been communicating with through the internet for years, is actually a beautiful young woman named Mieke.
Shocked and excited by the revelation, Scott decides to surprise Mieke and meet her in person. He confides in his friends Cooper, Jenny, and Jamie about his discovery, and they all decide to accompany him on a crazy and adventurous trip across Europe.
Their journey begins in London when they meet up with a British soccer hooligan named Mad Maynard. However, due to a misunderstanding, they are chased out of London and end up in Paris. In Paris, they encounter a French man, who they confuse for a mime due to his silent mannerisms, and end up offending him. This leads to a comedic encounter in the famous Notre-Dame Cathedral.
Continuing their journey, the group heads to Amsterdam, where they get caught up in the wild nightlife and end up at a sex club. Scott is mistaken for a performer and unknowingly participates in a show, much to his embarrassment. They eventually meet up with a helpful backpacker, Trudy, who joins them on their adventure.
Next, the group travels to Bratislava in Slovakia, seeking Mieke's house. Here, they experience a hilarious encounter with Scott impersonating a gay German to escape a dangerous situation. They finally locate Mieke's home, where they meet her overprotective twin brother, who mistakes their intentions and attacks them. The group manages to escape and heads to Rome.
In Rome, Scott finally reunites with Mieke and confesses his feelings for her. However, he discovers that Mieke is not the one he has been communicating with all along. Misunderstandings arise, and Scott feels betrayed. Eventually, he realizes his mistake, apologizes, and the two reconcile.
