In "Keeping Up with the Steins," the Fiedlers, a Jewish-American family, are preparing for the upcoming Bar Mitzvah of their son, Benjamin. However, the event becomes a source of stress and tension when Benjamin's father, Adam, decides to turn it into an extravagant Hollywood-style production.

As the family plans for the Bar Mitzvah, Adam's father, Irwin, is invited to attend, despite the strained relationship between him and Adam. Irwin, a successful talent agent, becomes enticed by the idea of reconnecting with his grandson but is also motivated by his desire to outshine his long-time rival, Arnie Stein, who is known for throwing lavish Bar Mitzvah parties.

The arrival of Irwin sparks even more chaos as he brings along his young girlfriend, Sacred Feather, a New Age spiritualist who clashes with the traditional values of the Fiedler family. Adam's estranged mother, Joanne, also unexpectedly shows up, adding further complications to the already chaotic situation.

As tensions rise and conflicts arise, the Fiedlers must confront their own insecurities, resentments, and feelings of inadequacy. The generations clash and struggle to reconcile their differences, but gradually begin to realize that their shared heritage and family bonds mean more than superficial displays of wealth and success.

Throughout the film, the Fiedlers learn about the importance of love, acceptance, and embracing their true selves. As they navigate the challenges of planning the extravagant Bar Mitzvah, they rediscover the value of their own traditions and the power of genuine connections with loved ones.

In the end, the Fiedlers come together, letting go of their superficial desires, and create a heartfelt and meaningful Bar Mitzvah celebration that emphasizes the true essence of family, friendship, and personal growth.
